Empowerment - So Machen Wir Das Hier CD

Stuttgart asozial for sale on the RecordSelling Blog.
I'm sure everybody knows these guys since their famous "Gegen.Kult" LP ...
What we have here is some 2009 Empowerment CD release on Our World Records, as you can see on the picture. Discogs says it's OW-R16. You bid on a demo that features two tracks: "Empowerment" and "Brauner Rand". The CD got played once.
It comes in a screen-printed letter envelope that says "Empowerment 2 So Machen Wir Das Hier". It contains some nice small lyric sheet and loads of other stuff.
To be precise:
Two Volcom stickers.
A "Stuttgart Nazi frei" sticker.
A flyer promoting a show on December 4th, 2009 at Jugendhaus-West in Stuttgart. Empowerment played there with Bull Brigade from Torino, Produzenten der Froide from Stuttgart and Warstreet from Karlsruhe.
Nothing less and nothing more was in the envelope Jogges gave to me on a show I can't remember ...

Review: Lion City - Change The Only Constant EP

Lion City from Stuttgart, Germany always reminded me of the almighty Cold World. I know, that must sound like overpraise to all those Cold World fans out there. But believe me - it's not.

The guys in Lion City manage to sound tough but not too tough, fresh like downy and with some serious punk edge. Armed with a good production and even better vocals.

Let's check out the EP track by track ...

"Lion's Den" is the opener. Seems to be something like a Lion City hymn - self-adulation galore. Musically strong, lyrically by far the weakest song on the whole EP.

Lyrically, "19FUX4U" is a big fuck you to all kind of trend whores while the music is a catchy mix between old and new school hardcore.

The third track is called "Track 6". "Your freedom ends where the freedom of another one begins": nice work. I like the flow, I like the rhymes and I even like the spoken words.

Same thing with "From Ashes": Nice flow and nice rhymes. Plus great gang vox. Very cold-worldish, maybe the best track on "Change The Only Constant".

The last song is called "Frozen", bringing some strong By The Grace Of God vibe, really touching. Emo how it should be made!

The lesson is clear: Give Lion City a chance - you won't regret it. Check 'em out on Facebook and buy the EP. I dig it!

Film Riss

"Film Riss" is a novel full of hardcore punkrock content ...

♫ „There were times you tried to put me in my place
I don’t know if I wanted to kiss you
Or spit right in your face”
(Sheer Terror - Three Year Bitch)"
